Doing it, one step at a time
Open the App Store
On an Apple TV it sits on the home screen. On an iPhone or iPad it is the usual App Store icon. If your Apple ID is still registered to the country you moved from, that is fine here; none of these apps are region-locked in a way that matters.
Install a player
Search for IPTV Smarters Player, iPlayTV or GSE Smart IPTV and install one. Smarters costs nothing; the other two carry a one-time price. Skip anything named TiviMato or Tivimax, which are not TiViMate and are simply hoping you will not look closely.
Add your login
Open the app, choose the Xtream Codes option, and enter the username, password and server address. On an iPhone you can paste each field straight out of the WhatsApp conversation, which removes the commonest cause of a failed first login by removing the typing.
Turn on AirPlay if it suits you
From an iPhone you can AirPlay a channel to an Apple TV or any AirPlay-capable television in the room. That is a reasonable answer when the television belongs to a landlord and you would rather install nothing on it at all, though it does tie up the phone while it plays.
Decide which device is actually going to be the television
An Apple TV is the better long-term answer if this is the main screen, because the app stays installed and the remote is designed for it. AirPlay from an iPhone is better if you are only here for a few months and would rather leave the landlord's television untouched.
Turn off Match Content if sport looks wrong
Under Settings, Video and Audio, Match Content is meant to switch frame rate to suit the source. On live broadcast feeds it sometimes locks to the wrong rate and produces visible judder. Switch it off, watch a match, and switch it back on only if you preferred it.
When it goes wrong, and why
The channel list loads but nothing plays
Some channels use codecs Apple devices will only decode with the right player engine selected. Switch the engine to VLC or FFmpeg in the app settings. This is a setting rather than a fault, and it fixes the great majority of these reports.
The app disappeared after I changed App Store country
Apps bought in one country's store do not always follow you to another. Sign back into the original Apple ID to redownload it, or buy it again in the new store. The subscription itself is untouched either way.
AirPlay keeps dropping mid-match
AirPlay re-encodes and re-transmits over Wi-Fi, so it is far more fragile than playing directly on the Apple TV. Put both devices on 5 GHz, stop the phone from sleeping, and treat AirPlay as a stopgap rather than the way you watch anything important.
The app cannot be found in the store here
App availability varies by App Store country, and yours is tied to the payment method on the Apple ID rather than to where you physically are. If a player you used at home is missing, either sign back into the original Apple ID or pick one of the alternatives listed above.

Is IPTV Smarters really on Apple TV?
Yes, on the tvOS App Store, and it is free. It supports the Xtream login with the guide, catch-up and on-demand sections all working. TiViMate genuinely is not available on Apple TV, whatever the similarly named listings would like you to believe.
Can I watch on a Mac?
Three ways. Install IPTV Smarters Player from the Mac App Store, open the M3U link in VLC or IINA, or simply use the browser player. The Windows and Mac guide walks through each in turn and none of them takes more than five minutes.
Which paid player is worth it on Apple?
iPlayTV is the one most people settle on: a proper grid guide, sensible favourites handling, and a one-off price rather than a subscription. GSE Smart IPTV is more configurable and less friendly. Start with the free Smarters and only pay once you know what irritates you.
