Smart IPTV: Uploading a Playlist Against Your TV MAC Address

Doing it, one step at a time

1. Install it and write down the MAC

   Search the Samsung or LG store for Smart IPTV and install it. Open it once and write down the MAC address it displays, because the next step happens on a different device and you will not want to walk back to the television to read it again.

   Get login details first

2. Upload the playlist from a phone or laptop

   Open siptv.app/mylist. Type the MAC exactly as shown, colons and all, drop your M3U link into the URL field, tick the "Keep online" box and press Send. That tick box is the thing that stops the playlist quietly disappearing a fortnight later, so do not pass over it.

3. Restart the app on the television

   Close Smart IPTV fully rather than backing out of it, then open it again. The channels and the guide load from the playlist you just sent. Give it a moment on the first run; the list is long and the hardware is modest.

4. Activate once the trial ends

   You get seven days, after which it asks a small one-time activation for that specific television at siptv.app/activation. That payment goes to the app's developer and has nothing whatever to do with your subscription here. We take no part in it and receive none of it.

5. Check the app is the right one before uploading anything

   There are several apps with near-identical names in the Samsung and LG stores. The one described here is called Smart IPTV and shows a MAC address on its first screen with no login field anywhere. If yours asks for a username, you have a different app and should follow the Smarters route.

6. Keep a note of the MAC somewhere other than the television

   Photograph the first screen. You will need that MAC again after any factory reset, any reinstall, and whenever you want to change the playlist. Digging it back out of a television menu later is far more tedious than saving it now.

When it goes wrong, and why

The list uploads but the television shows nothing

Wait a minute and restart before assuming it failed. Then check the MAC was entered exactly, colons included, since one wrong character sends your playlist to a television that does not exist. Note also that the app holds only one playlist at a time, so a second upload replaces the first.

It worked, then emptied itself after a factory reset

Resetting the set clears the stored list, and reinstalling the app does the same. Neither touches your subscription. Upload the M3U again at siptv.app/mylist against the same MAC address and everything returns as it was.

The activation page will not take payment from my country

That page belongs to the app developer, not to us, and its payment options vary. If it refuses, use IPTV Smarters instead, which has no activation fee at all. Nothing about your subscription changes; only the player does.

Channels load but the guide never appears

Smart IPTV needs the guide supplied separately as an EPG URL in some configurations. Ask support for the xmltv address for your account and add it in the app settings, or move to a player that carries the guide with the login.
